Oakgrove Community Centre News Letter Term 3 2017


Welcome back as we commence Term 3, we hope that all families have enjoyed your winter break while keeping yourselves warm. 
We had a smooth start at Kinder and Playgroup this week with all the children having settled in quite well. Well done parents!
We have some exciting new programs for children and adults this term. All parents are encouraged to have a look at our Website and Facebook page for updates about special events and School Holiday programs.
We run playgroup on Wednesdays and Thursdays 9.30am to 11.30am and currently taking Expression of interest for a Tuesday group. The sessions are facilitated by Jenny and suitable for all those who might want their children to socialise while mums/carers develop new friendships.

Quick Snapshot of Term 2

• Oakgrove Staff invited our Pre-kinder and Playgroup families for an exciting afternoon Tea for Mother’s Day on Friday, 12 May. “Thank you” to Baker’s Delight for your support.

• School Holiday programs was a big hit with many children participating in the Disco, Art and Hula Hoop

A very big "thank you" goes to all parents who have participated and supported us in Term 2.
We look forward to working together again this Term.

Important Information to remember
• The Pre-Kinder Trivia Night Fundraiser is on Saturday, 19 August starting at 7.00 pm. We look forward to meeting many new faces for a fun packed evening.
• Term 3 ends on Friday, 22 September and Term 4 starts on Monday 9 October.

Exciting News

For the second consecutive year, Oakgrove staff are organising a Father’s day Morning Tea for all our Pre-Kinder and Playgroup families. We would love to see many of you coming along with your kids and share a special moment of togetherness.

We are again fundraising with Village Cinemas Movie Tickets. Please enquire at the Office for more information. We appreciate your continued support in raising funds for our Centre.

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with our Activities and Office duties. Do you have any talent or hobby which you would like to share with others and love to meet new friends? Kindly talk to the office staff and we can help you develop your passion.

   Do you wish to volunteer your time in any way possible and get involved in our forthcoming events? If so, we would love to hear from you.


At Oakgrove Community Centre, we always welcome any suggestion/feedback which may lead us to improve our services for the benefit of the Community. Please feel free to drop in your suggestions into the Feedback Box located in the foyer or talk to the staff in the office.
Oakgrove would love to welcome any of you or your friends who might be interested in running new programs/activities like Music, Cake decorating, Mosaic, Knitting, Computers, Quilting etc.

We welcome back all our families and friends after the term break, we hope you all enjoyed the Winter holidays. It was a pleasure to see the excitement amongst the children as they commenced the new term.

Term 2 was a very exciting and long term filled with many varied activities. Term 3 is proving to be equally busy so please keep your eye on our Website and Facebook page for more updates.
We do have some spots available for Playgroup Monday to Thursday 9.30 to 11.30 am. Children enjoy the sessions with our facilitator Ms. Jennifer Diggines. Please feel free to contact the office for bookings.
